Typical British Understatement

At dinner one evening we met a lovely couple who, it turned out, had done something very similar to us. Frustrated at work he gave up his CEO job to write the book he'd always dreamed of. He had done it and travelled too before picking up some non-exec jobs again.After enthusing about our travel ideas and our Antarctic cruise plans, he let slip that last year he went to the north pole and this year was planning to tackle the south. The same cruise perhaps? No, he meant by foot !! He walks to the poles and gets a publishing contract. We get carried everywhere and write a blog !
